Get to know SHINGRIX
SHINGRIX is a vaccine that helps protect against shingles (herpes zoster). It is specially designed to help the body build strong protection, even as you age. SHINGRIX is indicated for adults 50 years and older, as well as for adults 18 years and older who are or will be at increased risk of shingles due to weakened immunity or immunosuppression caused by disease or therapy.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) and the Comité sur l'immunisation du Québec (CIQ) recommend SHINGRIX for adults aged 50 years and older, regardless of whether they remember having had chickenpox, and for adults aged 18 and older who are at increased risk of shingles due to health conditions or treatments that affect the immune system.

To maximize the protection offered by SHINGRIX, you will need two doses.

Dosing Schedule
The standard dosing schedule is two to six months between the first and second dose. Based on your medical condition or planned treatments, your doctor may recommend that you receive the second dose as soon as one month after the first dose.
When you get your first dose, ask your healthcare provider to schedule your next dose.

After getting SHINGRIX, you might experience some mild to moderate side effects that, on average, did not last longer than 3 days. These are common signs that your body is building protection. In clinical trials, very common adverse events (reported in more than 10% of doses) included:
